This is the first in a series on Body Composition. It is such a basic, yet surprisingly complex subject - one I frequently explain to my personal training clients. There is a plethora of misinformation and confusion floating around in regards to this topic. I hope to define body composition, explain the difference between body weight and body composition, explain methods of measuring body composition, discuss means of improving your body composition, and then finally, I shall divulge my profound dislike for measuring and monitoring body composition as a means to defining the success of one's fitness regime.
